当店にも飾られている自画像を描いたフリーダカーロについてご紹介します。
彼女は20世紀のメキシコ現代絵画を代表する女性画家として知られ、
ハンガリー系ユダヤ人の父とメキシコ先住民族とヨーロッパ人ハーフの母の間に生まれました。
彼女は6歳の頃に急性灰白髄炎にかかり、約9ヶ月寝たきりの生活を送った結果、右脚の成長が止まり、また17歳の頃に乗っていたバスと路面電車との接触事故に遭い生涯にわたり計30回以上も手術を行ったと言われています。
フリーダカーロは生涯にわたり200点以上もの作品を残しており、その大半が自画像でした。
自画像には、彼女の波乱万丈の人生、悲しみ、苦しみ、夢、希望が描かれています。
当店AGAVEは内装を1910年から1917年にかけて起きたメキシコ革命あたりのイメージで作られています。
そしてフリーダカーロは夫ディエゴリベラと共に革命に協力的だったと言われています。
当店にはこのフリーダカーロの自画像をはじめ、さまざまなメキシコのアートを飾っています。

On the 20th century, she was one of the most famous female artist in Mexico.
Born to a hungarian jewish father and a half european half amerian indian mother.
On the age of 6, she was disable by polio and spent 9 months on her bed, as a result her right leg stopped growing and by the age of 17 she suffered in a bus accident that had her to do a total of 30 surgeries in her life time.
Frida Kahlo made over 200 portraits and mostly self-portrait in her life time.
On her painting her ups and downs, sadness, suffering and her hopes and dreams are shown.
Mexican artifacts like Frida Kahlo’s self-portrait is decorated inside our bar.
